These Terms of Service govern your use of Taam, a household food-planning application provided by Makor Labs. By creating an account, selecting a sign-in option, or using Taam, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Taam Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Taam.
Eligibility and using Taam
You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your country, and legally able to agree to these terms. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use Taam only with permission from your parent or legal guardian. Taam helps users maintain shopping lists, recipes, menus, household collaboration, and optional AI, scanning, and voice-assistant features. You may use Taam only in compliance with applicable law and these terms.
Your account
You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your credentials, devices, linked services, and optional API keys, and for activity under your account. Notify Makor Labs if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not impersonate another person, create an account for someone without authorization, or transfer your account in a way that compromises security.
Households, permissions, and shared actions
Household owners and administrators control membership and permissions. When you join or share a household or list, authorized members may view or change content according to those permissions. Actions performed through Taam AI or Alexa may change shared lists, recipes, menus, or other household content. You are responsible for confirming the household and list you intend to use and for inviting only people you trust.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit to Taam. You grant Makor Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, format, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve Taam. When you share content with a household, you also permit authorized household members to access and modify it through Taam. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, import, or share your content, including recipe text, images, and URLs.
AI and voice features
Taam may use artificial intelligence to import recipes, interpret natural-language or voice requests, organize information, suggest actions, and carry out requested changes. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unexpected. Speech may be transcribed incorrectly, and an assistant may misunderstand an item, quantity, recipe, list, or household. Review important output and consequential actions before relying on them. Taam is not responsible for fees charged by a third-party AI provider when you use your own API key.
Food, allergy, religious-observance, and health disclaimer
Taam is an organizational tool and does not provide medical, nutritional, allergy, food-safety, kashrut, religious, or other professional advice. Recipe imports, category assignments, substitutions, labels, estimated nutrition, cooking instructions, and AI responses may be wrong or incomplete. Independently verify ingredients, allergens, dietary and religious requirements, product labels, quantities, cooking temperatures, storage requirements, and other safety information. You are responsible for decisions made using Taam.
Scans, imports, and third-party content
Barcode, QR, product, and recipe-import information may come from users, public sources, recipe websites, Open Food Facts, or other third parties. Makor Labs does not guarantee that this information is current, complete, licensed for every use, or accurate. Respect website terms, copyright, and other rights when importing or sharing material. Third-party links do not imply endorsement.
Acceptable use and community safety
You may not misuse Taam; interfere with its operation, security, or other users; attempt unauthorized access; probe or overload the service; introduce malware; scrape or commercially exploit protected portions of the service; reverse engineer protected portions except where law permits; use another person's credentials or API key without permission; or use Taam to harm another person.
You may not upload or share unlawful, deceptive, harmful, or infringing material, including sexual exploitation or content involving minors, credible threats, graphic violence, hate, harassment, bullying, encouragement of self-harm, scams, spam, malware, unauthorized private information, or content intended to evade safety controls. The Taam Community Standards and Safety policy explains reporting, blocking, automatic checks, and enforcement.
Third-party services
Taam may connect with services such as Google, Apple, Amazon Alexa, OpenAI, Firebase, Vercel, Open Food Facts, and recipe websites. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms, privacy policies, availability, and charges. Makor Labs does not control and is not responsible for third-party services. If a third-party integration ends or changes, the related Taam feature may become unavailable.
Taam ownership
Taam, including its software, design, branding, and original content supplied by Makor Labs, is owned by Makor Labs or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant you ownership of Taam or permission to use Makor Labs or Taam names, logos, or trademarks except as needed to use the service.
Availability, changes, and beta features
Taam may change, add, limit, suspend, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable limits needed for security, reliability, cost, or legal compliance. Features provided for testing or preview may be less reliable and may change without notice. We aim to keep Taam available but do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation or permanent retention of content. Keep separate copies of information you cannot afford to lose.
Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using Taam or delete your account at any time through Settings or the account-deletion page. Makor Labs may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address violations, security risks, abuse, legal requirements, or service discontinuation. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will survive.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taam is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or security. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Makor Labs and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to Taam. Where liability cannot be excluded, the total liability of Makor Labs arising from Taam will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid Makor Labs for Taam during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Taam changes. We will post the current version and date here and provide additional notice when required. If a change materially affects your rights, continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
